It just has to stop rocking!!! The boat, or ship rather, is so unstable. I’m not sick, just uncomfortable, but it is bothering everyone and its driving me nuts that we have an extremely mobile home for the next week. At least it’s a luxurious one and it is always a fun seeing Erika stumble around the ship, she ran into a wall today.
Today was a more eventful day than expected. With an early run with Bo, followed by a rather extensive discussion of Identity and Violence, my morning was already quite different than anything I’d be doing at home. Kevin got sick this morning. Sad Face. He has been asleep for most of the evening as well. I tell you this ship is treacherous. Following the discussion was superfluous orientations loaded with information that we either already knew, or had read before hand, so we either opted out, or slept through them. Unlike me, I know, but I wasn’t feeling so hot. Carbs seems to help, we found that out after eating lunch. After lunch we took some glorious naps. Again, unlike me, but why not….a nap by the ocean with some nice relaxing music?…doesn’t hurt….also the motion doesn’t effect you when your lying down.
After a nap we ( Erika, Bo, Kevin, Shannon, Kate, and I) had dinner. Kate hasn’t been feeling well at all and ultimately threw up on our way back from dinner. Don’t worry she didn’t eat anything, and she had a convenient little bag that the ship provides us with. After dinner (with Kate in bed) we picked up our beverage vouchers, which regulates our alcohol intake on the ship. I have nothing to worry about for I most likely won’t drink at all on the ship, not to mention alcohol mixed with this insane motion; not a great combination. We also signed up for a tour of the Bridge: where the Captain is and where they steer this thingy. I’m excited for that. I remember I went on this boat in the Hudson River with my family when I was younger and I was able to steer the boat for a while. I still have the picture.
Pictures!!! I apologize in advance for the lack of pictures. I only have a limited amount of internet available and uploading pictures takes up time, so I think I’m waiting for our arrival in Spain to upload the pictures. But stay tuned. There are some good ones of Erika! =) Also, apparently my mom called sprint and they provided her with a plan that enables her to call me for some rate. Sounds good to me! I prefer talking to her rather than chatting or emailing. We never have done it before, so it feels weird to start now.
As the night went on we were able to sign up for some clubs/groups that were on the group. I of course signed up for the Special Events Committee and am so excited to jump into that! I love planning and coordinating so that is right up my alley! As well as performing so hopefully there will be some type of talent show. Speaking of which, I met another student from NYU/ Tisch tonight. His name is Dan, and he is a film studies major who will be graduating after the SAS Program and then will be living in New York afterward. It is truly amazing who you meet. I also met cool people such as Grace, Billy, Jess, Aubrey, and Ian. We were all playing games tonight such as Scrabble, Taboo and the ever popular: cards.
We lose an hour tonight on the boat. So as the night comes to an end, I respond to a couple of emails, write this blog, and head to the safe haven of my bed. Six Days and counting.

P.S. Please make it stop.
